Job Overview:

We are looking for a talented, creative, dynamic and experienced landscape architect for a senior position in our Abu Dhabi Studio.  The role will assume the overall responsibility for the successful management and delivery of the Abu Dhabi studio portfolio, including contributing towards the creative design direction, client management and new business development within the Emirate.  This role may extend to supporting other Cracknell Studios on projects in other markets. 

Primary Activities:

• Provide senior level oversight to the Abu Dhabi design team and help define the creative design and style parameters for all projects delivered by the design team in coordination with our Group Design Directors.
• Maintain an oversight of the Team’s projects, time and resources.
• Keep an overview of all projects in progress and ensure that the “design direction” set at the inception of each project is followed throughout the project effectively, from design to construction.
• Closely oversee the financial management of the Studio’s projects assuming the overall responsibility for the financial performance of the projects managed and delivered by the Design Team working under his/her direction.
• Ensure the company stays abreast of latest industry trends and advancements in creative design styles, and new approaches in design processes and technologies.
• Assume an active Business Development responsibility, working both on new client acquisition channels as well as securing repeat business by building and maintaining a strong relationship with existing clients.
• Assume overall responsibility for the day-to-day operations, admin, and office management of the Abu Dhabi Studio.

Technical Competencies:

• Manage multiple landscape design projects of varying complexity, size, and value.
• Lead project architects and designers to create inspirational, healthy, sustainable and inclusive landscapes that enhance sense of place.
• Possess a general familiarity with Authority Approval processes, including Authority Submissions and ESTIDAMA or similar.
• Review and challenge project work performed by other engineers/disciplines.
• Possess sound skills in reading, writing and interpretation of technical drawings and documentation, specifications, reports, proposals, contracts and tender documents.
• Demonstrate excellent software skills in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, MS Office. Knowledge of Sketch-Up, Lumion, Revit, Rhino is an added advantage.

Position Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree/Postgraduate or equivalent in Landscape Architecture or Architecture
• CMLI or equivalent (preferred)
• 15+ years’ experience including having worked on large-scale landscape design projects
• High proficiency in spoken and written English
• Previous experience in the MENA region and with the Abu Dhabi Municipality would also be an advantage.
