We are honoured to announce that last night at the Landscape Middle East Awards our landscape design for Jubail Island Residential Community by JIIC in Abu Dhabi won the Climate-Resilient & Regenerative Landscapes category! This important award recognises the development’s place-sensitive and flood-resilient landscape architecture.

Coming together at the The St. Regis Saadiyat Island Resort, Abu Dhabi, the Landscape ME Conference and Awards gave the landscape design industry across the MENA region a collective opportunity to celebrate their incredible work. The conference hosted talks from many of the key players in the MENA landscape sector who spoke about pertinent landscape topics. Cracknell’s Design Director, Hani Bisada, gave a keynote speech on Authenticity and its role in driving Purposeful Design during the preceding Exhibition and Conference. Highlighting Cracknell’s work across the region including in Abu Dhabi, Dubai and KSA he showcased design principles to meaningfully engage community with culture and create biodiverse and place-sensitive landscape design.

Congratulations also go to our Resident Director of Cracknell’s Abu Dhabi Studio, Phil Black for his Prominent Professional Award! With over 20 years’ experience as a landscape architect and horticulturist across the Middle East, Asia, and Australia, Phil brings passion to every stage of the design process and excels at tackling complex site challenges. His expertise and commitment to mentorship have been instrumental in growing both our Abu Dhabi portfolio and the talented team behind it. Congratulations Phil!

Additionally, winning the Biodiversity & Ecological Restoration category was The Wilds, a nature focused residential development in Dubai by ALDAR, for which Cracknell supplied vision and final concept landscape design. We were pleased to join them on stage to celebrate.

These awards could not have been achieved without our clients, project stakeholders and fellow design teams with which we collaborate so closely in the pursuit of a successful project outcome.
