Development of plant supply strategy, nursery management and irrigation for sustainable achievement of Design Guide goals towards Saudi Vision 2030.

    Sulaimaniah Guidelines

Generous shaded streets with wide footpaths and high-quality street furniture provide attractive green connectors between the districts of Darb Al Haramain, its destinations and amenities, parks and plazas, creating walkable neighbourhoods that foster social connection & a sense of community.

The design encourages slower vehicular traffic and travel on foot or by bicycle. The positioning of the metro station at the heart of the development allows ease of access to the public transit system.

Ensuring communication of the design intent and a cohesive experience for residents & the working community, these landscape guidelines set out public realm parameters for individual developers to work within, over a phased period of time.

    Riyadh Metro

Transforming a car-dependent city into a multi-modal urban environment, the public realm landscapes related to Riyadh Metro create walkable, connected and distinctive urban spaces.

With 85 stations spanning 176 kilometres, the $22.5 billion project is transforming residents’ lives and habits, and saving nearly 250,000 car trips a day. 33 km of public space surrounding the metro supports the mission of creating a healthier urban environment where walking, cycling, and public transportation are the norm.

Lined with hundreds of thousands of trees and plants, wide, shaded footpaths are pedestrian-friendly and offer a platform for public art. The triangular form design the region is known for was threaded into details in the bespoke furniture, stitching the public realm into the architectural character of the city.

Seven neighbourhood districts with varying land uses include mixed-use, commercial, hospitality and residential zones. The public open space includes waterfront plazas and beaches as well as vibrant active streetscapes.

Landscape design vocabulary draws from the patterns and bursts of sea life colours, coral textures and the refraction of light on the sea bed.
